Blakes Diversity & Inclusion Pre-Law Summer Student Program

The Blakes Diversity and Inclusion Pre-Law Summer Student Program was established to offer an opportunity to an undergraduate student from York University, the University of Toronto, or Ryerson University to gain exposure to the practice of law and to focus on related diversity and inclusion initiatives.  The TD Bank Group (TD) and Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) both share a strong commitment to establishing a workplace that is rich in perspectives, backgrounds and cultures and we are very pleased to again this year extend the program to include a term with TD as well as with Blakes.

The successful Pre-Law Summer Student will work virtually for 4 weeks in the Blakes Toronto office and virtually for 4 weeks in the TD Legal department, with a focus on diversity and inclusion initiatives and projects at both organizations. The student will be mentored by members of both TD and Blakes.

The goal of this Program is to provide an opportunity for an undergraduate student who is considering law school to gain work experience performing a variety of tasks in a law firm environment and a business environment, to observe lawyers in the workplace and to work on specific projects in the areas of diversity and inclusion.
